Poolside cocktails and tall ships
March 18th – The 2 dads and the 4 kids were heading out on an all day tall ship sail. You know what that means right? M and I, sans kids, poolside, with bubbles. All day. Perfect weather. That’s right. Mic drop.
The gang left early. M and I communicated via text after our very peaceful and very quiet morning.
We eventually got up and headed into town for some breakfast. The only crappy part to the day was that M had to drive back to Matauri Bay because they had left a phone charger there. It was going to be more hassle to get it shipped to Auckland than just to drive the 30mins and go get it. It would mean an hour out of her day. I would have gone with her but the thought of having to be on those twisty roads if I didn’t really have to, did not appeal to me. Besides, someone had to claim poolside seats and get the bubbles chilled. It was a sacrifice I was willing to make. So I stayed behind.
While we were out having breakfast, my sister started texting me about her day. I started to tell/show her what I was up to.
What I sent. Her reply.
I continued with…
Her reply.
I see your empty shelves but raise you with this.
I can’t put her “reply” on here. But I won. Oh, I won.
Anyway, I sent M a couple of motivational pics while she was out and then settled into sunshine and the occasional dip in the pool.
1st motivational picture I sent. They were tasty. So, so tasty. Then I sent this classic.
While I was waiting for Madam M to return, I started to get some cool shots from the Kiwi of the tall ship adventure. Looking at the heights and climbing activities the kids were doing, I was very happy I wasn’t there. I get a little vertigo just looking at them.
Too high. That is one salty looking captain. Why do they both look concerned?
I replied with this.
Then this came.
Well played sir. Well played.
We stayed at the hotel that night for dinner. Buffet = instant food for the monsters and zero effort for us. Kids went to the rooms to watch some TV/Play games and we sat in the hot tube until we soaked up all the water.
A perfect day.
